The Mayor has done many positive things for Detroit. The candidates that ran against Kilpatrick also had fresh ideas and positive outlooks, the only difference is they would of had an additional 9 million dollars to work with. The mayor is not on trial for cheating on his wife; which by the way public figures do not have personal a life, he knew what he signed up for. Kilpatrick is on trial for lying and soon to be for assaulting a deputy. My husband and children are the most important things in the world to me, Kilpatrick would probably say the same. If he is willing to screw his family over, why wouldn't he do it to complete strangers. I am pained to see such a fine city as Detroit reduced to a punchline. I, as a proud male also, feel it is time for you to lick your wounds, and resign as mayor of Detroit. I believe it is the honorable thing to do. Resignation is much better than being ousted by the Detroit City Council, or by Governor Granholm. The District Attorney definately has your future in his hands, and he is about to start applauding; the gallows have the rope ready, please do not stick your head into the noose.Honor is earned, and it is time for you to allow Detroit to recover from this debacle.
